Reports to the Administrative Manager and Laboratory Director of the Department Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology with MT (ASCP) certification. Masters Degree in Health Sciences preferred Five (5) to seven (7) years experience working as a Medical Technologist, including one to three years of supervisory and/or management experience Working knowledge of laboratory materials and equipment. Excellent managerial, technical, fiscal, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills Responsible to the administrative and technical management of a clinical laboratory and directing activities of the staff. Responsible for budget monitoring, inventory control to meet expense bases. Responsible for the Quality Assurance as it relates to a lab section, Compliance and Universal Precautions, fire, safety and all regulatory and Hospital requirements Has technical and managerial responsibility for all non-physician aspects of the clinical laboratory. Assists physicians with the interpretation of unusual problems and results. Responsible for writing and review of all procedure manuals. Position requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment in performing managerial duties, meeting the changing demands for services, and effectively recommending managerial, operational and technical actions.
