Position Responsible for providing competent professional nursing care using the nursing process provides direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process or assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care. Also participates in communication and decision-making activities of the unit, which include provision of care. Required Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Current D.C. license as a Registered Professional Nurse; certification in Basic Life Support. Required Experience: New employees must have minimum of two years acute care in the area desired to work and a skill base broad enough to enable floating within a clinical area. Must have certification and skills in appropriate areas of practice (e.g. PALS for PICU). Permanent staff wishing to transfer to PRN must have one year Full-Time acute care experience in the area desired to work and must have a recommendation from the nurse’s unit manager.
