Education: A high school education or equivalent with competency in basic mathematic skills in use of the metric system is required. Completes manual for Hospital pharmacy Technicians programmed course in basic skills of the ASHP, 1977 edition. The individual must meet all requirements set forth by the State Health Department and the State Board of Pharmacy. Training and Experience: Should be able to perform the arithmetic calculations required for the usual dosage determinations and solutions preparation. The essential functions relating to drug purchasing and inventory control. The usual technician functions associated with an institutional drug distribution systems. The manipulative and record keeping functions associated with the dispensing of prescriptions for ambulatory patients. Experience with typing of at least 40 words per minute, 10-key adding machine and/or computer systems and routine office procedures.
