The registered physical therapist organizes and conducts medically prescribes physical therapy programs to help patients reach their maximum functional performance. Travels occasionally to workshops and other work assignments. May work/travel outside if seeing patients in Same Day Surgery and/or Home Health Care and/or if working with the sports medicine program. Takes scheduled on-call with a beeper for emergency referrals. Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy. Licensed or eligible for licensure by the North Dakota State Examining Committee of Physical Therapists. Good communication skills are necessary because of the constant communication, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, and medical center staff. Promotes and supports positive working relationships among staff, between other disciplines, departments, families, visitors and patients. Must maintain confidentiality. Must be able to perform effectively in emergency and stressful situations. Physical effort is medium duty and involves a maximum physical effort requirement of 50 pounds lifting/moving and the ability to maneuver about the department and medical center. Works under the following conditions: potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical and infectious environmental hazards.
