Performs various vascular ultrasound procedures that require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative to provide reliable diagnostic information for physician interpretation. Must have a good knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathology. Knowledge of methods, techniques and operating principles involved in the operation of various ultrasound equipment He/she provides care/service that meets the development needs of patients ranging in age from adult to geriatric. The vascular sonographer complies with standards of practice; assists with patient care activities; helps maintain supplies and equipment; and collaborates with other healthcare team members in response to patient and family needs. Needs good communication and interpersonal skills. This position will care for patients in the adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.
